River Rats SAC B-52 Linebacker II Challenge Coin

This challenge coin honors Strategic Air Command's role in Operation Linebacker II, the maximum-effort B-52 bombing campaign over North Vietnam from December 18–29, 1972. The heads side pairs the River Rats emblem with the SAC emblem, framed by SAC's motto "Peace Is Our Profession" and the years 1946–1992, marking the command's active service. The tails side depicts a B-52 releasing bombs amid a barrage of missiles, ringed by "Linebacker II and Airbases," the mission tally "Maximum Effort — 729 Sorties, December 18–29, 1972," and the callsigns of the bombing groups involved.
