River Rats 50th Reunion / 2023 Museum Opening Challenge Coin
River Rats 50th Reunion / 2023 Museum Opening Challenge Coin
This commemorative challenge coin was struck to mark a milestone moment for Aviation Heritage Park: the River Rats' 50th Real Reunion and the grand opening of the AHP Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 2023.
The heads side features a map of Kentucky with a star marking Bowling Green, a hybrid emblem combining the River Rats insignia with wings from the AHP artwork, the POW/MIA symbol, and the inscription "50th Real Reunion / Museum Grand Opening / 2023 / Bowling Green, KY." The tails side carries the River Rats emblem alongside their motto: "We who came home must never forget those who did not."
