Linebacker II Challenge Coin

This challenge coin commemorates the 50th anniversary of Operation Linebacker II, the eleven-day air campaign flown over Hanoi and Haiphong from December 18–29, 1972 — sometimes called the "Christmas Bombing" for its one-day stand-down on the holiday.

One side features the Air Force emblem, the River Rats emblem, a B-52, and the various aircraft flown in the campaign, alongside the air bases they flew from: Da Nang, Nakhon Phanom, Takhli, Korat, and Ubon. The reverse shows a map of North Vietnam marking Hanoi, Haiphong, and the Gulf of Tonkin, along with the Navy and Marine aircraft involved, their service emblems, and the carriers of Task Force 77: USS Oriskany, USS Midway, USS Saratoga, USS Ranger, USS Enterprise, and USS America.
